Astoria Jazz Collective is gathering up favorite holiday tunes for a night of original arrangements. Guitarist, composer, and arranger Dave Drury gives Jingle Bells a Latin swing, Dinah Urell pays homage to Coltrane with her vocal/guitar arrangement of My Favorite Things, and drummer Dusty Hills' version of Little Drummer Boy features a trio harmony including pianist Roxanne Hill and Urell, a sample of some of the night's selections. The vibrant reeds of jazz newcomer to the region, Tom Hunt, and sublime beats, man and harmonist, bassist Clarence Robinson, fill out the show.
