Fridays this fall, unwind with live jazz and crafted cocktails at Lovely Rita inside The Hoxton, Portland. From October 3 through November 14, PDX Jazz brings an intimate lineup of performances to the heart of downtown every Friday from 5–7 PM. Sip, savor, and start your weekend with the perfect mix of music and atmosphere.

Artist: Tahirah Memory

Portland native Tahirah Memory, daughter of a jazz trumpeter father and raised by a loving mother, discovered her passion for music early—singing in school hallways, recreating music videos for family, and emulating R&B vocalists on vinyl. Praised for her “beautiful instrument, a truly warm and gorgeous sound,” her performances are often described as intimate conversations. With jazz roots, a Grammy-winning father, and a love for old soul and R&B, Tahirah’s sound is deeply personal and distinct.

Her 2015 debut PRIDE topped the UK Soul Chart and earned acclaim from SoulBrother Records, while her 2019 release Asha brought SOULTRACKS nominations for Best Female Vocalist, Best Album, and Best Song. She has toured with KD Lang, collaborated with Jarrod Lawson, headlined sold-out shows in the U.S. and UK, and performed at festivals alongside Robert Glasper, Eric Benét, and more. In 2025, she toured England following her first new release in six years, Fight or Flight, while continuing to perform locally and work on new projects.
