These two legendary dance bands come together on one stage for one special night of entertainment you won't forget!
 
Enjoy the celebration and showcase of live Latin dance music from Salsa to Cumbia, Bachata to Bolero, Latin jazz & more. Enhance the experience with incredible catered food and bar specials as you dance the night away in this historic new venue!
 
Son de Cuba is a sextet created in August 2015 by musicians from Mexico and Cuba. They play different kinds of genres such as Salsa, Timba, Son, Merengue, Boleros, Cumbia, Bachata, Latin Jazz, etc. The band is based in Portland, OR and consists of: Vocals, piano and bass piano player, Nelson Morales; singer and minor percussion, Adalberto Dominguez; Sax, flute and vocals, Ramon Brizuela Martinez; Timbal player and master percusionist, Isidro Valor Perez; Trumpet player, minor percussion and vocals, Juan Carlos Tito; The band manager, percusionist and vocals will be Tony Gonzalez.

Since five of the band members are Cubans, they have roots in Latin, African, and Jazz rhythms. They blend this vast knowledge of different beats together in classic and modern latin songs, exuding energy, happiness, and encouraging you to dance. With only six performers, they have a full sound and will draw a crowd with our energy and love for our music. Dancing is encouraged, and they may even join you!
 
A staple in the live Latin music scene since 1987, Conjunto Alegre plays tropical music from all over the Caribbean - Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Cuba, Colombia, Venezuela, Panama, and the US.  Aquiles Montas has been the lead promoter of Caribbean music in Oregon since 1984.  Conjunto Alegre’s high energy and great connection with audience has made them high priority at clubs, private parties, and summer concerts in the parks for many years such as: Mt Hood Jazz Festival, Portland Mayor's Ball, Ilani Casino, Portland Rose Festival, Cinco De Mayo, Eugene Celebration, Salem Art Festival, Oregon County Fair and all city summer concerts throughout Oregon.
 
This special night of music is part of the Elevate Unity Non-profit Benefit Music Concerts. Our focus is to advocate for inclusion and equality, and financially support live music.  It's time to celebrate with the people who support local musicians and Unity!
 
The Elevate Unity Benefit Music Series is a collaborative effort created from the necessity to support the arts, reconnect our community, and promote Unity through the healing message of music. Their focus is to advocate for inclusion and equality and support local venues, staff, gig workers, and musicians still struggling from the effects of our industry shut down from COVID.
 
The Elevate Unity Benefit Music Series also supports the following local nonprofits:
Aspen Meadow Band, Music Portland, Black United Fund, PDX Jazz, Saturday Samaritans, Cascade Blues Association, Portland Columbia Symphony, Leukemia Lymphoma foundation, Friends of Noise, and Access to Opportunity.
 
Alberta Abbey is a beautiful spacious 400 seat air conditioned theater including a full bar and lounge, state of the art sound system and venue with on-site parking. Plus, superb Creole Cajun food will be provided onsite by Southern Grill Catering.
