Jim, Susie and Beth Malcolm - 2nd Saturday Community Concert

Saturday, March 11, 2023

Doors Open:  6:45 PM
Event Begins: 7:30 PM

An evening of Scottish Traditional Singers - The Malcolms – Jim, Susie & Beth Malcolm

2023 – Year of the Carrying Stream - Featuring Beth Malcolm.

Scottish singers Jim and Susie Malcolm, with their daughter Beth, are the very embodiment of the Carrying Stream, which has preserved and passed on the traditional music and song of Scotland for centuries. Their concerts include songs and tunes which are hundreds of years old, handed down from generation to generation by word of mouth, a living musical history.

Jim Malcolm has been bringing the traditional music of Scotland to audiences across the United States for more than 20 years, joined more recently by his wife Susie, herself an award-winning traditional singer. In 2023 they have a unique opportunity to tour in the US with their daughter Beth, one of the rising stars of the traditional music scene in Scotland. Beth is taking a sabbatical year off from her job as a high school History teacher to pursue her musical career in traditional and Scottish folk music, after winning a string of awards in 2020 and 2021. Together Jim, Susie, and Beth Malcolm offer audiences a unique opportunity to experience the inter-generational Carrying Stream of Scotland’s traditional music and song.
