Yugen Rashad: From his veteran status as a Jazz radio announcer to his journalism, Yugen brings his respect for the art to another level with his music project. With 30 plus years advocating American Classic Music (jazz) to audiences, Y Knot: A Yugen Music Project explores the emotional and life-affirming impact of music as both transporter and healing agent. Our Mission: The Unity Benefit Music Series is a collaborative effort created from the necessity to support artists, reconnect our community, and promote Unity through the healing message of music!
Our focus is to advocate for social equality and address the need to support our local venues, production staff, restaurant workers, and musicians from the devastating effects of our industry shut down.
Description: This benefit music series will feature Portland's top Soul, Latin & Jazz bands.
During the shows, we will spotlight positive tangible commentary from community activists, select nonprofits, and social equality advocates sharing ideas and strategies to unite our divided country.
