Bobby Torres: Bobby Torres is a bandleader, musician, record producer, songwriter, and session musician with a 40-year professional history that spans the globe. Originally from New York City, Bobby developed his reputation while performing with Joe Cocker and The Grease Band at Woodstock, touring with Joe Cocker Mad Dogs & Englishmen, and performing and/or touring or recording with countless other music stars such as Al Jarreau, Jackson Browne, Beach Boys, the Captain & Tennille, and Etta James – to name a few. He also performed and toured the globe for 10 years with Tom Jones. He has extensive discography. A versatile musician, Bobby was nominated for Outstanding Percussionist (a Muddy Waters award); featured on Oregon Art Beat; inducted into the Oregon Music Hall of Fame; received Jazz Journalists Association Jazz Hero award; appeared in a photo in Time Magazine; selected to perform in an All-Star Tribute honoring Archbishop Desmond Tutu, and recently performed with the remaining members of Mad Dogs AND the Tedeschi Trucks Band at the Lockin Festival in Virginia before a crowd of 25,000. He has been a respected advocate, speaker, instructor, and keeper of Latin rhythms on the Portland music scene.

Our Mission: The Unity Benefit Music Series is a collaborative effort created from the necessity to support artists, reconnect our community, and promote Unity through the healing message of music!

Our focus is to advocate for social equality and address the need to support our local venues, production staff, restaurant workers, and musicians from the devastating effects of our industry shut down.

Description: This benefit music series will feature Portland's top Soul, Latin & Jazz bands.

During the shows, we will spotlight positive tangible commentary from community activists, select nonprofits, and social equality advocates sharing ideas and strategies to unite our divided country.
