Karen is our Play it Forward artist for September and she has chosen The Pongo Fund as her charity. Catfish will donate 10% of bar sales and 100% of raffle proceeds to the Pongo Fund. This is gonna be a fun show!

The Pongo Fund is Oregon’s only full-time charity fighting animal hunger. Because hungry people have hungry pets. We work tirelessly to reduce shelter populations and keep families together by providing emergency pet food assistance to anyone in honest need. Protecting their beloved family pets from the suffering, starvation, surrender, abandonment or worse, when a lack of food, but not a lack of love, is their only enemy.

Karen Lovely shot onto the blues scene out of the Pacific Northwest like Stack O' Lee's .44 placing 2nd at the 2010 International Blues Challenge followed by three 2011 Blues Music Award Nominations for BEST CONTEMPORARY BLUES FEMALE ARTIST, BEST CONTEMPORARY BLUES ALBUM and BEST SONG for her sophomore release STILL THE RAIN.

With the release of her 3rd studio album TEN MILES OF BAD ROAD, produced by Grammy winner Tony Braunagel, Lovely established herself as a singer/songwriter with a style uniquely her own, receiving nominations for the prestigious 2016 Blues Music Award for "Best Contemporary Blues Female Artist" and 2016 BluesBlast Award for "Best Female Artist". She also won a 2015 Blues411 "Jimi" Award for "Best Contemporary Blues Female Artist" and the album was selected by Downbeat Magazine as one of the Best Albums of 2016.

Her albums have topped the national blues and roots charts and made the Top 10 favorite artist list for dozens of nationally syndicated radio stations. Lovely is a two time “#1 Pick to Click” artist on XM Radio Bluesville and was selected several times as a Featured Blues Artist by KKJZ FM in Los Angeles.

Lovely's newest release, 2017's FISH OUTTA WATER (6/16/17) has debuted at #13 on the Billboard Top 100 Blues Album chart, hit #1 on the RMR Top 50 Contemporary Blues Singles chart, #4 on the RMR Top 50 Contemporary Blues Album chart, #6 on the RMR Top 50 Blues Album chart and is #11 on the Living Blues Top 50 chart.
