We practice Tārā to become her. This weekend retreat is for immersing ourselves in the blessings and vision of Tārā and to find that Tārā’s pure land right with us in Portland. We sing and imagine in chantable English and Tibetan the poetic simplicity of Adzom Drurkpa’s Tārā practice, from his famous Secret Luminous Vajra Treasury. We call this retreat a Drub-Lam, a path (lam) of accomplishment and becoming (Drub), because we will emphasize practice and deep reflection on our own experience in the process of becoming Tara ourselves.. We become her by meeting her in ourselves, by developing her qualities of trust, ease, and swift compassion, and reflecting on what supports and what obstructs these qualities. All are welcome and can benefit, whether newcomer or long time practitioner.
