PDX Jazz is back with live jazz at The Hoxton's Lobby Bar, bringing live music and crafted cocktails to the heart of downtown. Starting Friday, April 17, unwind each week from 5–7 PM with intimate performances from some of Portland’s most dynamic jazz artists.

Artist: Meg Samples Trio

Meg Samples Morrow (drums) brings a rich musical life to everything she touches. Rooted in the jazz tradition, she honed her craft studying and performing in Louisville, Kentucky before relocating to Portland, Oregon in 2019. When she's not leading KMHD as Interim General Manager, championing jazz and boundary-pushing music for all listeners, you'll find her behind the drums with Triple Martini, or volunteering with Pacific Northwest Search & Rescue.

Mieke Bruggeman (woodwinds) is a Portland-based multi-instrumentalist and educator. Three major life transitions, two trumpet players, one crummy first-grade teacher, and a whole mess of incredible mentors shaped Mieke’s charismatic and thoughtful approach to music.

Patrick Carr (keys) was born and raised in a musical family in Nashville, Tennessee. He studied jazz at the University of North Texas, where he taught and directed medium and large ensembles as a teaching fellow. He now lives in Portland, Oregon where he performs regularly with Ron Steen, the Rivkah Ross quartet, and many other local jazz musicians.
