greaterkind:  greaterkind was formed in Portland, OR in 2018 by four friends on a mission to spread love and inclusivity through the medium of music. Channeling elements of jazz fusion and funk with undertones of R&B, gospel, and hip hop, greaterkind sets out to do something new. A product of playing together in numerous live situations, greaterkind’s music is rooted in improvisation which brings a different and special energy to each show. Space and creation are key to the process. The band includes Charlie Brown (keyboards), Ian Michael Lindsay (bass/vocals), Cory Limuaco (drums), and Peter Knudsen (guitar/vocals). The band plans to release its highly anticipated first EP this summer.

 

Our Mission: The Unity Benefit Music Series is a collaborative effort created from the necessity to support artists, reconnect our community, and promote Unity through the healing message of music!

Our focus is to advocate for social equality and address the need to support our local venues, production staff, restaurant workers, and musicians from the devastating effects of our industry shut down.

Description: This benefit music series will feature Portland's top Soul, Latin & Jazz bands.

During the shows, we will spotlight positive tangible commentary from community activists, select nonprofits, and social equality advocates sharing ideas and strategies to unite our divided country.
