The true joy of being a human comes when we know how to live life fully. The secret to this joy comes not through external activities, but through embracing each moment no matter what situation we are facing. Life is a whole in which each and every moment is an equally essential element. Because of this, loving our own life requires loving the present moment. This retreat is an opportunity to practice opening our heart to the present moment.

Anam Thubten grew up in Tibet and at an early age began to practice in the Nyingma tradition of Tibetan Buddhism. He is the founder and spiritual advisor of Dharmata Foundation, teaching widely in the U.S. and occasionally abroad. He currently resides in the San Francisco Bay Area. He is the author of The Magic of Awareness and No Self, No Problem. Through his personal experience on the spiritual path, Anam Thubten brings alive timeless teachings of the Buddhist tradition and invites everyone to participate.

Note: The retreat will have a break from 12:30 - 2:30pm. The cafeteria at Bastyr University will be open both days of the retreat.

Anam Thubten offers these weekend retreats for participation on both days. He will offer a talk on Friday evening, March 17 at 7pm at the Seattle Insight Meditation Center, more information available here:
