Concert violinist, recording artist and Milwaukee Symphony Concertmaster Frank Almond performs a special recital to commemorate the 300th birthday of his celebrated instrument, the 1715 Lipinski Stradivari. Almond and his instrument are the subjects of many international news articles and feature stories since the violin was stolen in an armed robbery after a performance on January 27, 2014, and recovered nine days later. Accompanied by OSU Music Professor and Concert Pianist Rachelle McCabe, Almond will perform works from his recording “A Violin’s Life” and other music connected with the history of this rare and valuable instrument.
