SVRA’s Mardi Gras in October at NOLA Motorsports Park will showcase vintage and contemporary racing at its best, with vintage race grids composed of iconic racing marques including Jaguar, Lotus, Porsche, Shelby, Alfa Romeo, MG and more. Sports Cars, Formula Cars and Sports Racers powered by Chevy, Ford, Cosworth, etc. will be divided in to eight vintage racing groups. The on-track sessions will include practice, qualifying and two sprint races for each of SVRA’s race groups, as well as 2 endurance races. The contemporary Trans-Am Series will also take to the track during this 3-day event for practice, qualifying and a 100-mile feature race on Sunday.

In addition to on-track racing action, fans and spectators will have the opportunity to autocross the newest additions to the Jaguar lineup, including the 550 hp Jaguar F-Type, as part of the Jaguar Driving Experience. Also adding to the fun on Saturday morning will be the Show-n-Shine Car Show, where local car clubs and auto collectors will gather and share their car passions. This action packed weekend offers something for everyone!

NOLA Motorsports Park offers a world class, 2.75-mile track with 16 turns and a 5,200-foot straightaway. It has been designed to be challenging, yet with safety in mind. The facility offers vintage racers an amazing on-track experience.

NOLA Motorsports Park opened in 2011, and recently received a multimillion dollar state grant earmarked for track improvements necessary to host the Grand Prix of Louisiana, its first IndyCar race, in April 2015. Besides a smooth racing surface and a challenging layout, NOLA Motorsports Park also offers a large paddock area and go-kart course. The on-site event center hosts a Saturday night party, featuring great New Orleans music and followed by a spectacular fireworks display. Laissez les bon temps roulez!
