Get ready to be blown away!

Frankie is one of New York City's most celebrated artists/instructors and is widely regarded as one of the most innovative and renown Latin contemporary dancers of our time. He is also who we consider one of the most musically connected artists in Afro-Latin dance.

Frankie’s exploration into the Afro-Caribbean roots of his performance art and the choreographic possibilities native to Latin/Afro-Latin dance positions him as one of the foremost authorities in the genre. He is the leader of the Afro-Latin Funk Movement - a concept which answers the question of what would Latin dance be if a disciplined training method werenapplied.

If you've been craving to deepen your understanding of musicality, this is a very unique opportunity to do so! Frankie travels mostly internationally and is very rarely on the West coast, so take advantage of this amazing opportunity! So SAVE THE DATE, and REGISTER FAST! (Some spots are already gone). His workshops are some of the most sought out around the world and sell out quickly!

You are welcome to attend ANY & ALL parts of this event!

Workshop #1
"Can You Handle the Truth"

This workshop will delve deep into what Frankie Martinez calls "the truth", the cha cha cha. Anyone hoping to understand Latin music and dance at any level of depth must explore the cha cha cha. It has been called the bride of the Mambo. It's slower structure forces us to to deal with empty space between beats. This idea makes it one of the most difficult things for the aspiring dancer to master for it requires a sharp and disciplined ear and a control of movement that expresses the process of travel from beat to beat. The first half of this workshop will deal with open footwork and theory and the 2nd half will be devoted to partnerwork and improvisation.

Workshop #2
"The Godfather of Soul":
Pachanga Bootcamp

The Popularity of the Pachanga has grown to great height recently and with this growth it has also become a watered down shell of what is its great potential.
This will be a masterfully crafted training session full of exercises and instruction to develop the 3 core facets of the ever complicated concept that is the Pachanga. The Dig, the Chuck, and as James Brown called it, "the Mashed Potato" the all important missing element in todays manifestation of the Pachanga.
Not only will you learn the exercises and training methods but also how to increase them to continue to reap benefits for years to come and further refine your Pachanga into a beautifully soulful and natural compliment to your Dance repertoire.

Workshop #3
"36 Chambers of Partnerwork”

This Intensive course will delve deep into the highest levels of theory and application of the concepts of musical communication between two individuals. Frankie Martinez's unique and progressive philosophies are brought to light from the ground up, making this experience accessible to the novice as well as the expert Latin dancer. From a brief history of the evolution of partnerwork in Latin dance to unique lead and follow drills borrowed from traditional martial arts this journey of masterful exploration will explode the normal thinking of what is possible in the realm of not only Afro-Latin based partner dancing, but partner dancing as a whole. Known for being the first if not the only person to develop a systematized training method specifically designed to raise the level of possibility in Afro-Latin ethnic dance to that of more classical art forms, Frankie shares with us his unique training methods in several key areas. Join us as we make history with a first of its kind workshop /seminar.
