Coco Montoya releases his double CD set on RUF Records, Songs From The Road, the next best thing to being there version from this great guitarist and his crushing band. A look back over his glittering career notes that a live solo album was one of the few things Coco Montoya had left to achieve in a storied career.
His first major appearance was in the mid-’70s lineup of Texas-blues great Albert Collins, and in 1984, Brit-blues godfather John Mayall drafted Coco to partner with Walter Trout in a rejuvenated Bluesbreakers, where he stayed for ten triumphant years. A storied solo career has followed, featuring Coco's guitar wizardry and powerful vocals.
